NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING
-
Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT), also referred to as Magnetic Particle Inspection, is a non-destructive testing method used to detect surface and slightly subsurface flaws in most ferromagnetic materials such as iron, nickel, and cobalt and some of their alloys.
-
Liquid or dye penetrant testing (PT) is a non-destructive testing method which uses capillary forces to find surface cracks or pores and make them visible. It can detect surface-breaking flaws such as cracks, lack of fusion, porosity.
-
Eddy Current Testing (ET) is a non-destructive testing method used for a variety of purposes, including flaw detection in welds in both ferromagnetic & non-ferromagnetic materials. With its primary purpose being an alternative inspection method to magnetic particle as it allows for the inspection through painted surfaces.
-
Ultrasonic testing (UT) is a non-destructive testing method based on the propagation of ultrasonic waves in the object or material tested. Ultrasonic inspection allows for the detection, characterisation and sizing of flaws.
Commonly used to assess welds, assessment and mapping of corrosion, material thickness testing and can be utilised to conduct inspection of shafts, pins and bolts.
-
Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), also known as phased array UT, is an advanced non-destructive testing method that uses a set of ultrasonic testing (UT) probes made up of numerous small elements. Each of these is pulsed individually with computer-calculated timing to create the phased aspect of the process, while the array refers to the multiple elements that make up a PAUT system.
PAUT allows us to achieve greater inspection coverage, quicker inspection and interpretation of results and the ability to record / re-reference scans.

Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) is an advanced non-destructive testing method used to detect wall loss on ferromagnetic structures such as carbon steel and cast iron. It provides a relative volumetric measurement converted into an averaged thickness measurement.
This technique provides a solution for assessment of Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) and Fireproofing (CUF), Scab and blisters, Flow-Accelerated Corrosion (FAC).
